@Linguist Today’s strip IS funny , these days cops not only have they got our HERO Mr Andrew Capp on their workload , they also have to check that people on obligatory quarantine because of the @#$%&% Corona virus are not out of their homes and fine them if they do :o{ , my avatar is of Grumpy , one of the dwarves from Walt Disney’s first full length movie " Snow White and the 7 dwarves" which is how I am feeling being cooped up , come stai passando la sua giornata jmprigionato ?our day should be very busy and hectic but we will cope I hope, a bientot mon moins vieux amigo .
Long-running comic strip (or comic book) characters are either re-booted or their past is simply ignored. Clark (Superman) Kent flunked his army induction physical when he accidentally used his X-ray vision and read the eye chart in the neighboring exam room, instead of the one he was in. Thus, he sat out WW II. Whereas Andy DID serve in the war, although we don’t mention that much these days………By the way, children’s author Beverly Cleary recently turned 104 years old, so she even beats Andy!

besides not having to deal with Andy’s no-good habits, what’s the best part of being a cop?

Can’t you just roll a drunk to the nearest gaol.

Officer, perhaps a brisk dip in the canal will rouse him?

Is that why you drag him by his feet so his head bounces along the bricks. To reap your revenge, insuring he’ll have a pounding headache tomorrow.

Shouldn’t he be dead by now?

The cop should be happy… Andy’s the reason he has a job!

The copper should be pleased that by lugging Andy around, he’s staying fit.

Does anybody know how old Guitar Bob is? From his musical talent, I’d think he was a couple steps below Neanderthal Man…………

Could be worse. At least there isn’t a giant gorilla on the loose. (Although I suspect a giant gorilla would be easier to deal with than Andy.)
