Apparently there was nothing that Calvin could do during the time hole day that would affect his parents’ being in the wrong place at the wrong time one week later? Or is it that whatever he tried to do on that day wound up getting “reset” in every repeat of the time hole day, so Calvin’s change to history never stuck?
All we knew about Lottie’s dad at this point was that he had died unexpectedly when she was little. Years from now, in her guest appearance in Steeple, she’ll reveal that he was killed by a hit-and-run driver, who was never caught. So this has to be hitting awfully close to home for her.
Kudos to the author for details. I noticed Gary the Horse’s speed is indicated in mph and I thought the author made an error. However, apparently the UK began switching to metric in 1965 so they were still using mph when the accident occurred.
This is why everyone ends up loving Lottie. Let’s hope Calvin was able to give his parents that message, so to not regret to never said that to them or only remember about fighting with his mother and telling that he hated her.
