I like the ethicated Calvin – can we keep him?

Well Calvin..to get some..u lose some…keep it cool…u’ll get used to this good one and so will mom and dad..he he..

It’s a good thing that the good Calvin is a clone. If it was a friend, the bad Calvin would lose a friend by taking advantage of him.

I think this can only backfire in the end.

I think, Hobbes has taken Calvin as friend, when he was a rascal and he will love the rascal in the future too!

Hobbes ought to know better than be part of this.

Funny that Calvin does not have temptation to turn arrow to the other side. We have not yet seen really Evil Calvin…

Mom is going to faint if she sees Calvin and his good clone side by side, and poor Dad might have to call the Fire Department to help revive her. Dad isn’t going to be real happy to learn that he has to deal with 2 Calvins at home!

Self-righteousness is irritating.

I like the coorpative good Calvin but alas this wouldn’t be bad Calvin. Most kids don’t act like good Calvin. I don’t know what will happen on this strip.

Hey Calvin, definition time. You’re self-righteousness if you compare yourself to other people. You’re really righteous if you compare yourself to God and no one else. Believe me, the last thing Good Calvin wants to do is to compare himself to YOU! :)) As you’ll find out in a few days…

I want to keep the Ethical Calvin too. That would take care of the whole plot engine of the strip, but since it’s out of print anyway I think it would be a fair trade. (grin)

Only, let Ethical Calvin keep the same degree and kind (but not direction) of imagination… :))

The worst part? Good Calvin is right. Only if he’s really good, it’s not self-righteousness.

Hobbes finds the good Calvin interesting . Do not move that arrow I only see 2 settings, there should be 3.

I don’t mind reading bad Calvin here, but good Calin is the son I’d want.

Even a “goody-two-shoes” will only be taken advantage of for so long, Calvin, before he decides he’s had enough and rats you out to your parents and teacher so you’d better be careful and not push him too far!

Would it be possible to have this “Two Shoes” kid come over to my place and help me clean it up?

I believe everybody faces this conflict in themselves eventually, but leave it to Clavin to create a seperate person to have this conflict with.

The label of “self-righteous” is often applied wrongly by people who are themselves self-righteous. The person who enjoys being good, who does good things for goodness sake alone, this is a righteous person. Those who are annoyed by this person are usually personally ashamed, or afraid others will judge them as less worthy by comparison, and they only do good as a grudging chore for sake of appearance – these people are the self-righteous, judgemental ones. I have been on both sides of this, so I know we are not necessarily all one or the other.

As I’ve said here several days ago, ordinary Calvin is bad enough. We have enough imagination of our own to see what Evil Calvin is like. =:-o
