I know this is a comic strip. Kids like Calvin keep principals busy.
My question is for those teachers that read this strip. How will budget cuts work with kids like Calvin that challenge authority?
As a former elementary teacher, Calvin would have been a joy to have in a classroom. A kid with an imagination is always a good thing. Not sure Iād want 25 of them, but one or two a year would have kept my own juices flowing.
The kids I had problems with were the ones who constantly reminded me who Daddy and Mommy were.
Kab - I think the biggest problem is the new ratio of kids to teacher. Itās good to have a couple of Calvinās in a class of 25, but when you have 6 in a class of 45 it getās a bit more challenging.
It just occured to me that Calvin might have Multiple Personality Disorder with all those āCalvinsā living in him. I can hardly wait to see who else shows upā¦.
My son went through that once but just wanting to shorten his name to his initials only. The school called and said he told all his teachers his new name and he would only answer to that in Junior High. He had told me the same thing and I just told him Iād try to get it right. The teachers decided theyād play along and his friends did too. It was just an act of defiance, once we all started to get it down, he decided heād rather go back to his real name.

To whom it may/might concern, imho, vulgarity is inappropriate even with initials.
