Didn’t know about the goose Creek Tower, just googled it, fascinating, what is the purpose of the round structure on the very top?I presume it is built to view the breathtaking scenery.
May 4th. The Kent State shooting in 1970. They were protesting the “Invasion of Cambodia”. I was part of that invasion. We (the 101st ABN) captured over 700 weapons and munitions. Always wondered how many American and South Vietnamese lives we saved.
Baker’s German’s Sweet Chocolate: named for Samuel German of the Bakers Chocolate Company – and a special place in heaven is where he sits for coming up with that stuff!
I made a German Chocolate Cake for my dad’s birthday every year. The recipe is included with the german choc. bar in the baking aisle. The frosting too. It always turned out good and he loved it.
The cake I enjoy for my birthday every year. I have been experimenting with the frosting in the last few years. This year I added chopped walnuts to the pecans and it came out very well. Next year I am going to add the orange zest to the batter and the walnuts to the frosting. MMMMMM. Maybe I’ll try that sooner.
I knew German chocolate cake wasn’t German, although I thought the chocolate itself was supposed to be German. Guess that’s not the case either. But German or not, it’s GREAT!

If Mr. Caroll Spinney went on the “Challenger” flight in 1986, “Sesame Street” fans would’ve lost him sooner instead of 2019.

“German’s Chocolate” has to be used to make “German Chocolate Cake.” Hershey’s makes “German’s Chocolate.”

I’ve always wondered what was German about that cake. Schwarzenwald torte, yeah, I can see how that is German.

Samuel German’s surname is probably etymologically related to “Germany”, the nation; the “’s” was probably removed for convenience.

How fortunate that they didn’t decide on a smaller Muppet.

I’ll bet being in the attic of that house during a tornado would have been a sequel to the Wizard of Oz…
