When my oldest cat was having trouble getting up places, I bought a few sets of steps. Unfortunately our bedroom is small & my husband had trouble, so I couldn’t do anything about the bed (but he was still able to get up & down), but I had them other places he couldn’t jump any more & he used them all the time. His younger “brother” disdainfully ignored them. about 2 years later, guess what- he had trouble & started using then. I left them in place knowing my cat would start using them at some point. She still doesn’t, but when I brought in the 6 year old who’d gotten sick outside- he needed them. He’s gotten his strength back but still tends to use them. She still ignores them, but she’s getting older & I’m sure will decide to take advantage.

In Wally’s world, what other purpose would it have……???

I think he understands it just fine.

Dachshunds are not all that adept at jumping up on a bed, especially with the thickness of today’s mattresses.

More like you don’t understand the purpose….

Wally got up on the bed without it and is having fun sliding down the ramp.

We have a small staircase for the dogs. Our bed frame is tall enough we can store large totes under it,

The human purpose or the dog purpose. I think Wally gets it.

As long as it’s not a water slide.

I’d say Wally has a better idea of what to with the ramp. I know some young kids who would do the same thing.
