    There is a lot of truth in this. How much is one human life worth? The settlements for the deaths on 9-11 were based on salary. The survivors of top executives got paid a lot more than the person who was emptying the trash basket when the planes hit.

    I can see judges passing down lighter sentences to people who make more money even though in dollar magnitude the crime may be bigger. A person who robed a convenience store is likely to get a more severe sentence than someone who embezzled a couple million dollars from a retirement fund.

    It’s all a matter of how much justice you can afford to pay for.
