It’s the screw that gives it that unique flavor.

Köttbullar meat buns not meat balls; that would be köttbollar.

I realize this speaks poorly of me, but I kind of like them.

The Allen wrenches don’t work. I had to use my dark chocolate pliers, screwdriver, and pipe wrench to put it together.

I love IKEA meatballs, but the assembly drives me bonkers.

Hey, folks, help needed. Late last night I heard from Heidi, the owner of Sasha (the dog that makes appearances here from time to time) that the old girl is not doing well. Prayers, good energies, etc. are asked for and appreciated.

“It’s an Earth food. They are called Swedish meatballs. It’s a strange thing, but every sentient race has its own version of these Swedish meatballs. I suspect it’s one of those great universal mysteries which will either never get explained or which will drive you mad if you ever learned the truth.”—“Babylon 5”, “Walkabout”

3 on my oatmeal this morning – last of my Christmas batch unless another bag is still hiding. But Mom’s recipe, not Ikea’s, seasoned with allspice and cloves.
