Any artist can do a stick figure painting.

The only toy less fun than the “Pet Rock” was the “Pet Bag ‘o Sticks.”

Erin had a bright future as the protege of Rumpelstiltskin, but an unfortunate mental slip made her think that she’s supposed to use twigs.

Intriguing. A painter makes a picture of a girl gathering sticks. Given what she’s doing, are we meant to think she is poor? If she is obviously healthy, well fed, scrupulously clean, decently dressed, and her hands look as though she’s never done a days worth of manual labor in her life.

Just you wait until I can wear my spring wardrobe. Then I will have brighter shades of … green.
