Wow. So that was really good thinking for Michael Phelps to get into the human Olympics.

what’re the odds of a river underneath another river?

A dolphin can swim faster than Michael Phelps? No, you got to be kidding right? What are they going to astound us with next??!!

I know dolphins are fast but 22.4 mph (~ 19.5 knots) seems a bit extreme even for them.

So the Amazon River features both hot and cold running water. A river almost 3 miles underground should be significantly warmer than the surface.

I wonder what makes it ancient? Is the Amazon River ancient too? Does ancient mean it is no longer flowing, if so isn’t it not now a river? Assuming it still flows, where does it flow from and to, and where does it get its water?

But let’s see the dolphin try to dive off the board at the starting gun and do a 180 at the end of the pool.

Dolphins can swim a lot faster that 22.4 mph. When I worked at sea on a super tanker, our top speed was 17 knots, about 20 mph. Dolphins could practically fly past us.
