    I know dolphins are fast but 22.4 mph (~ 19.5 knots) seems a bit extreme even for them.

    So the Amazon River features both hot and cold running water. A river almost 3 miles underground should be significantly warmer than the surface.

    I wonder what makes it ancient? Is the Amazon River ancient too? Does ancient mean it is no longer flowing, if so isn’t it not now a river? Assuming it still flows, where does it flow from and to, and where does it get its water?

    Dolphins can swim a lot faster that 22.4 mph. When I worked at sea on a super tanker, our top speed was 17 knots, about 20 mph. Dolphins could practically fly past us.
