National Nurses Day. They deserve a MONTH, not just a day.
National Beverage Day
National School Nurse Day
National Skilled Trades Day
National Crepe Suzette Day
National Bike to School Day. Our local cops actually observed this day last year with the kids in the high school/middle school. There’s a walking/biking trail that goes from my home town to the high school and the cops rode to the school with the kids. I wish the trail had existed when I was in high school (the middle school was added onto the high school many years after I graduated). I’d have gladly walked the couple miles home some days rather than wait for the bus. Country kids rode the earlier buses while village kids like me had to wait about a half hour for the late buses.
To ladycat from yesterday’s comments – I’m happy to hear that Paul is home. I looked at your comment on yesterday’s BCN – too many comments there to read them all. But if you’d copy & paste your comments from there to here, we wouldn’t have to scroll through so many comments to see yours (though because your comment was the “featured comment” on BCN yesterday, I didn’t have to scroll through the other comments). It’s wonderful to hear that you have some support and I hope the radiation treatments work.
Kudos to all our mail people out there for keeping our bills (and other things) coming, and not just during Covid-19. I think we are all realizing how much we depend on service people of all shapes and sizes.
I love my mailman also. I don’t know how I’d survive without him. I’ve told him so often & the few times I did catch him since the quarantine. We have a multiple box where I live, so I don’t always know when he’s there or it would be even more often.
Why is the US Postal Service the only gov’t agency that gets flak for not running in the black? Name one agency that’s notin the red. My sister mailed an Easter card to me on April 14th. I got it yesterday.
I know it’s early, but I saw two Bluejays on my bird feeders this morning. The smaller one took some crumbs and flew over to this much bigger Jay and fed it to him/her! What the heck. They flew away together. One of my cats witnessed this, as he peered out a front window. He had no thoughts on the matter.
Neither rain nor sleet nor snow nor pandemic shall keep the mail carrier from delivering the mail. Thank goodness for that! On another note, saw a varied thrush, some robins, a rabbit, and a dragonfly while out walking today.
GRAHAM just so you know, I have printed off these pandemic strips on card stock paper and am going to find a frame to fit them and place as a series to hang on my wall in my room. I look forward to each day of these. You are doing a wonderful job, Sir!

I live in a retirement community right? And everyone here is over 55 right? And we are vulnerable right? Then WHY does nobody wear a mask?
I see people walking with their neighbors, chatting with their neighbors and riding two to a golf cart. Nobody has a mask on!
