    SHIP’S logs. Ships float, ergo logs float…Lincoln logs floated to the US and became favorites…Yule logs float, unless they are made of cake, at which point they turn soggy fast, and either sink or fall apart.

    At our current rate, it would take hundreds of thousands of generations to get to Alpha Centauri , which is lots more that have existed on earth.

    water – logged … seems like an oxymoron, but – it does happen, and they’ll sink to the bottom, and remain there for a very long time, perfectly preserved for hundreds of years, or until they’re ‘salvaged’.
