Chess tournaments all over the country (and the world) have been canceled or postponed.

Our local club, which met in a public library once a week, is having a tournament this Saturday. Online.

Wizard chess is so much more interesting than regular chess.

Must be the “Queen of Corona” that Paul simon sang about…

One wrong move could prove fatal…..so Earth found out….

Fantasy chess involves all sorts of interesting pieces. My favourite was the Atomic Bomb – when played it would remove all the pieces in the squares around it. The COVID piece would probably have any piece in immediate proximity cause infection of two to three pieces in proximity in the next move and then have to be removed. This would continue unless you could isolate the infected – and it would apply to both white and black.

Pawn scum.

In chess play, there is a thing called a “poisoned pawn”. Seems appropriate here.
