Coming Soon š At the beginning of April, youāll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
Itās now currently believed that most theropods had lips covering their teeth. For a long time we werenāt sure because their closest living relatives, birds and crocodilians, donāt have lips, but theyāre now generally accepted to be specialized cases, and that covered teeth are the default for tetrapods.
I donāt know if this detail was known in the early 90ās, but there is more time separating the Stegosaurus from the T-Rex than the T-Rex from us, which goes to show just how LONG the reign of the Dinosaurs lasted. Of course that dinosaur in the third panel is clearly NOT a T-Rex based on the shape of the head and number of fingers, so Iām not calling the comic out (especially since good ol Bill treated Dinosaurs with more respect than any other newspaper comic artist ever had)
This was supposed to be a T-Rex. In one of his first collections Bill Watterson remarked on the large number of fans who wrote to him to correct his mistaken number of fingers. After this they all have two fingers.
He is just so cool that he actually tuned kind of pretty dumb. No offense. (not THAT dumb. Like the one like you see something interesting, but then another is your favorite one, but you donāt pay attention.)
