Offal would have to be “awful” charming just to stay alive. I discovered something about charm: the ones who have the most are people who have to make a completely new set of friends every few months. Think about it. What kind of person needs to make a COMPLETELY new set of friends so often?
I’m still trying to decode Vesper’s smile in the last panel. There’s something bout it that doesn’t say, “Oh, he really does love me!” There seems to be an element of “Sure sweetie, now that you need me, you hug me and call me ‘darling,’ but what about that barmaid you were with earlier?”
Or maybe I’m reading too much into the slightly rolled eyes.
