Am I the only one who dislikes the fact that in the current Frosted Flakes commercials Tony is voiced by a tenor? The ads I grew up with Tony was a base baritone.
I think Frosted Flakes was the first sugared cereal I ever saw.
It was considered a treat at our house.
But does anybody else remember that they were then called “Sugar Frosted Flakes"?

Back in the late 50’s-early 60’s sugar was advertised as a desirable energy-booster…
Give your kids sugared cereal, sugary soft drinks, and Baby Ruth bars to help them do well in school!
Into young adulthood I loved to eat Sugar Crisp or Sugar Smacks dry, like cookies or candy, for dessert…. never for breakfast cereal.
Â
By the late 70’s, sugar was being blamed for children’s hyperactivity and dental problems… also sometimes adult obesity and diabetes…
So by the mid-80’s, when my nephew and nieces were kids, Sugar Frosted Flakes, Sugar Pops, Sugar Smacks, and Sugar Crisp became Frosted Flakes, Corn Pops, Honey Smacks and Golden Crisp….
I haven’t looked it up, but I don’t think any changed their ingredients… only the names.

Rather apropos, considering the attitude of the Kellogg brothers towards the hoi polloi!

The French people would have been much happier with the Frosted Flakes than they were with the cake! :-)

Except for the fact that they turn to mush if you don’t eat them in exactly 30 seconds?
