Feels like this day’s strip has no punchline. The “his problem” line might have worked as one, but adding “You’re exactly right” makes this feel more like a story-strip than a humor strip.
Don’t start that one up! Knowledge is knowledge. But, to quote Sheldon’s Mom, “It’s okay to be smarter than everybody else, but you can’t go around pointing it out.”
It takes two to solve this type of problem. Charlotte needs to stop revealing all that she knows every Single time. Not play dumb but just let Dean make a point now and then. This advice works whether you’re trying to be friends with a boy or a girl! It removes the element of competition and makes it easier to create a new friend.
When I was in HS, my best friend told me that guys didn’t ask me out because they were intimidated by how smart I was. Her advice was to “dumb down a bit” to reassure the guys. My response was that it was their problem to fix, not mine. You go, Charlotte!
