After all, we don’t change inside. But people start treating us like we’re old, or something.

It’s whenever I feel the need/excuse to exercise my thumb on the remote. And rest my eyes.

I’m with Evelyn! Just wish I was in her kind of shape.

Groing older is mandatory. Growing up is optional.

I’m only fifty two and there’s a chunk missing out of the stairs at the apartment where I live at. This young girl, probably in her 20’s, asked me if I needed help because I was going backwards down the stairs, putting my basket on the steps. I did it so I wouldn’t step on that stair and take a tumble. Just grated on me the wrong way. And I apologized to her and explained to her that when she’s my age, she may feel the same way when it happens to her.

I sometimes get offered help I don’t actually need due in part to age and in part because I use a walker. I always thank the person very much for the offer. They are being kind and thoughtful, and I’m grateful for that! It doesn’t matter that I don’t need that particular help at that time. Most people ARE kind and thoughtful and help me out all the time, total strangers on the street, people in a store, etc. I am amazed at how good human nature can be!
