No sidewalk in front of my house; no visitors coming to the door; no reason for sidewalk art right now. The American flags along the driveway are still out though because you can see those from the road.
Got home one day to find art all over my sidewalk. A bit later there was a knock on the door. A stern mother ordered her little girl to apologize for drawing on my sidewalk. I said, “Why shouldn’t she draw on my sidewalk? That’s pretty. You may draw on my sidewalk any time you like.” Then, next time I was out, I picked up some sidewalk chalk and left it on their porch.

Never draw on the sidewalk with chalk – it permanently discolors the sidewalk – or so my parents and later my husband have told me.
