They’re way off today.

Garfield a cat after my own heart…I love to nap, its a ‘rite of passage’ to a retiree.

Does your union know that you’ve been doing the job of two cats?

Yeah, retired…….No more ($#% alarm clocks at 5 AM. Now I have sleeping contests with MY cat.

Indeed Lewreader. That has expression and variants have been around longer than dirt. Or at least the 1950s or so.

I am most familiar with it as: “The hurrieder I go the behinder I get.”

@ TexTech - I understand “The hurrieder I go…” the smaller ‘is Lubbock in my rear view mirror.’

In this case ‘smaller’ equals ‘happiness’.

“Behinder” is kind of a Pennsylvania Dutch term & has been around for decades, as a few others mentioned. I also have heard it as "the hurrier I go, the behinder I get.

Well, that’s busy for Garfield!
