I asked GoComics several times, but got no answer: (do they care about costumers at all?)Waterson crated a strip each day for 11 years.GoComics recently started over C&H with strips that they already published in February 2007. What happened?

It appears they are following the way the strips were published in the newpaper and these strips were published during the first of Watterson’s sabbaticals.

The Zoom feature on the strip seems to only work for newer strips. Ones like C&H and Citizen Dog, both in re-runs, don’t usually have zoom enabled. If you look at the ones with zoom, you can see that the lines are very very smooth and clear. These strips were probably converted to digital vector art in a program like Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape. This lets you resize them infinitely with no loss of quality. They probably require current artists to submit their art like this. They can’t do that with the older ones, it would require someone manually converting each strip. There are automatic converters, but someone would still have to go over them in detail to make sure they’re done properly and make any corrections. Art with a lot of hand shading and pencil work may not even be convertible and still look the same. So that’s probably why many strips do not have zoom enabled.

Or, unless Cartoon Physics is reigning supreme as it usually does. :)

This is beyond just being bratty. I hope Dad has family photos, and anything else that would suffer from water damage on the top shelf of the closet. Why was he home alone?

Until I saw the last panel I wondered why he was phoning Dad, then it hit.

Calvin better be planning to escape before his Dad gets home.

Quick! Someone call the paramedics (or perhaps the morgue?) because Mom surely must have drowned! How else to explain why a precocious 6-year-old like Calvin was left alone long enough to do this kind of damage?!?
