I’ve introduced my children to the classics. They like their anime (man that stuff is pure cr@p!) but we do enjoy our Looney Tunes. And we have the unedited ones on DVD…you know, the ones before the Karens got their knickers in a twist and said they were too violent, and that Speedy Gonzales is racist.
Been introducing them to the Flintstones (my oldest is utterly perplexed at how the car starts and stops – because real life doesn’t work that way.). Bought the Jetsons last year too.
You (we) can still load up on bowls and bowls of sugar laden cereal with whole milk, while wearing our flannel pajamas. Then… the carb crash. Early morning nap time.
You can see a lot of the old toons on Boomerang. There’s also Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, Cartoon Network and the Disney channels. I watch a lot of toons and I still find them hilarious.
I have to point out, though, that “Rocky and His Friends” was Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, and “The Bullwinkle Show” was Sunday prime-time. “The Jetsons” was also prime-time. And the “Bugs Bunny Show” was prime-time, too, though most of its contents (all but the links) originated on the big screen.
Fortunately, contrary to this comic, there is a channel that still airs the old Loony Tunes, as well as The Flintstones, and the Jetsons. Even being my age, I still watch them.

I watch ME TV on Saturday morning for an hour of cartoons. A lot of the oldies.

I used to look forward to the preview shows of what new cartoons were coming out for the new season.
They should make a Hong-Kong Phooey movie

I still blame that brain dead purple dinosaur for ruining children’s television.
