Well, Annie, I don’t know what year this song is from, but I’d like to request a funny car song. How about “Beep, Beep” (if that’s what it’s called) or “Hot Rod Lincoln”? Or even “Rusty Chevrolet” .
A second roofer came to look at my roof on Thursday. He was supposed to be here at 8:00 or 9:00 in the morning (a little early for this late sleeper), but he got here at 10:30 (I was up by that time). He said I can get a 40-year metal roof cheaper than a shingled roof. But this is the one who said he would put the new roof over the old shingles. But it sounds like he’s saying he’d put new plywood over the old shingles first. I’m still waiting on an estimate from the first guy who looked at my roof, but I’ve had lots of people recommend that roofer. I expect I will get an estimate from him soon – maybe even later today. I’m supposed to get an estimate from the second roofer today. As for the 2 others who were supposed to come on Monday and were no-shows, I’m close to removing them from consideration at all and I may call a couple other roofers yet. I’d prefer to have at least 3 estimates rather than 2.
Does anyone know if it’s possible that a good quality metal roof could really cost less than shingles? I really would prefer a metal roof so I’d never need to do a new roof ever again (well, other than the other 2 sections of the house, but those have to wait a couple more years).
Off to Mousies?? Annie and her records would add some class! Our gathering in Laguna was tough, but necessary for his wonderful family and I to connect. We spread a few ashes on a hillside overlooking the park where Craig loved to play ball with his little jack Russell, and shared stories around a campfire. So difficult to restrain from hugging. And it was nearly 90, humid and no breeze. 4 1/2 hour drive home yesterday followed quickly by a 2 hour nap. Another hot smoky day today but we are lucky none of these horrific fires are anywhere near us.

Chesney would probably most likely want to hear “The Sounds of Silence.” What a sourpuss! On another note saw two rabbits while out walking today. It was raining, but fortunately, I had my umbrella.
