I thought the issue was eating an apple from that one specific tree. But it does surprise me that no one ever founded a church that prohibits the eating of apples.
It wasn’t an apple. There is NOTHING that identifies the fruit as an apple. Besides, it doesn’t matter what it was. They had a choice to make, and like all of us, they chose poorly.

To be fair, we’ve been able to get up to plenty of evil without any assistance from fruit. Maybe a bit of good, too.

I always feel bad for apples. They are a wonderful fruit (best in apple crisp!) and not even mentioned in Genesis. Someone made that up much later.
