One of the great mysteries in life; Octo in Latin means 8, so why do we have placed the 8th month in number 10 position in the calendar?

October is my favorite month. The light is flat, the colors are spectacular. The weather is usually mild. The almanac says “October usually has 19 fine days.” Acorns and other nuts are gathered. The farmers are harvesting their fields.

I like October.

Especially the fest with all that beer!

I feel this might end up being way too true!

The impossible dream.

The Julian calendar actually fixed what was a very screwed up system.

I like it when the months and seasons show up in the strip. Fall is my favorite season, then winter and spring. Summer is horrible and I’d like to skip right over it.

I agree. Let’s keep October around as long as possible. Halloween is supposed to scare November away, correct?!?

I lived in the mid-west for awhile, and someone told me, “there are 4 season people, and there are not 4 season people. Eventually, the not 4 season people leave.”
