This is not a good month for John as a parent. If my son were playing so well with his baby sister, I would do the raking and leave them to it. Of course knowing John, he probably expects Michael to rake AND take care of his baby sister at the same time.

How to blow a sweet moment, Dad. Let the kids play : ) Mikey can rake later, when ALL the leaves are down.

Never waste a teaching opportunity, unless you’ve already learned your lesson.

Better to leave them alone. Better for the lawn in the long run. The yard doesn’t need to resemble a golf green.

Fire up the mower and mulch. My daughters always fought over who got to drive the mower and mow the lawn. (I sat in the shade of our big oak and supervised with my eyes closed.)

Ahhh! Remembering the days when I was a kid in the 50’s and we could burn the leaves at the curb. The smell of burning leaves was wonderful. Didn’t think too much about air pollution back then.

I laughed out loud at this one. I took it as the joke it was intended to be and enjoyed it.

The multi coloured autumn leaves is one thing that we miss down in the eastern part of the globe.
