I used to have friends that lived in Atlantic City. They refused to walk on the boardwalk. Said it made them look touristy. These two were not the brightest bulbs in the chandelier.

I lived in NYC for 40+ years, and my friends there and I were never in awe of the famous landmarks there.

Once there was a memorial service for the victims of a terrorist attack in Argentina which was held in a church near the UN headquarters.

After the service was over, my friends and I were more concerned with catching a nearby bus than in the Secretariat, LOL.

I remember back in the mid 1970’s when two teen hicks were impressed with the automatic opening doors at the grocery store. That was really a hi-tech treat for them back then. I would have to think that they were probably impressed with the indoor plumbing too.
