MY wife is a good copilot. She changes the CDs, answers my cell phone, fetches a soda, helps with navigation and does other things to keep me from being distracted when driving.
She also calls out hazards by yelling out “WATCH, WATCH, WATCH.” Which makes me take my attention off the hazard I do see to look for the hazard I’m not seeing.
For me I am always watching out for yellow lights as I know will soon change to red. My brother-in-law with him did run a red light after yellow change before he reached that intersection, we told him he ran a red light. He claimed that one caught him, too bad PD was not around.
And this is why ALL of my accidents have come with my wife in the car. I can drive the beltway with impunity, but let her get in the passenger’s seat on the way to the mall and I turn into Distracted Driver Man.

Is Paige going to squeal, or is Peter going to bribe her to shut her yap?

Did you see the flash of the red-light camera when you went through the intersection?

I got hit by a red light runner recently. I didn’t get hurt, but my car was totaled. The SOB didn’t even hit his brakes. Really pissed me off.

I’ll confess, the first time I accidentally ran a red light it freaked me out so much I accidentally ran the one right after it too.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – raise the driving age to 35!
