I was just hitting send when….nothing, it took me a second to realize the internet was down again. Thats the third time today. Our local provider is the worst.

Truth in advertising. At least birdie won’t cut himself, and apparently nothing else either.

National Voter Registration Day. I’ve been a registered voter since I turned 18

National Elephant Appreciation Day

National Ice Cream Cone Day. I have ice cream and I have the ice cream cone things, so maybe I’ll do that today

Car Free Day. It’s my day off, so I could go car free today, but I need to check my garden and see if I have any ripe squash. My garden is about 3 miles from my house. I’ll be taking my car to my garden.

Hobbit Day

National Girl’s Night Out. This makes me really miss our monthly “girl’s lunch out” days I had with my friends before this stupid virus thing ruined everything.

Autumnal Equinox – First Day of Fall

Dear Diary Day. “Dear Diary, I don’t want fall to come yet. I want it to stay summer and I want our longer days back. It gets dark too early now.”

American Business Women’s Day

National Legwear Day. I wear my legs EVERY day! Yes, I know that’s not what they mean. I’m just being a smarty pants.

National White Chocolate Day. I like white chocolate, but I don’t love it and rarely eat it.

Katie [avatar] has perfected the art of imitating Lily. She has taken her role seriously and slaps and bullies hubby and me quite a bit, to get her way. We still adore her though. We do get after her for bullying Tag though. But she is trying to teach him some manners. And he is beginning to listen to her. She swings a mighty right paw.

I wouldn’t expect Lily to be working in customer service, unless she just likes to be seen.

However, they do come with a lifetime of free customer service. Example: Don’t run with the scissors.

Does anyone read Speechless here on GC? If so, read the Comments; the artist passed away, there are messages from his daughter. Very sad, I really enjoyed his warm humor.

I worked for a few years in the consumer electronics department of the Big Corporate Harlot department store. We sold good items at good prices (sold a few) and inferior items at low prices (sold tons.) The bird’s customer experience here is not unusual; people who came to our service desk couldn’t fathom why a $69 VCR didn’t work according to expectations. Lily’s honesty is refreshing.

Those scissors may not be dangerous, but Lily definitely is! She brings new meaning to the phrase “the truth hurts.” On another note, saw some dragonflies and some finches while out walking today. Today may be the first day of Autumn, but it certainly didn’t feel like Autumn. It felt more like it was still Summer, which is fine with me. I’d better enjoy it while it lasts.

Well…quite a day in my farm community. I listened to the crop duster plane spraying defoliant in surrounding fields all morning. At about 4:45 this afternoon, he was about 4 miles east of my farm, had his engine die, and tried to land on the highway that I take to town…slid off and crashed his plane. He was not injured!
