Nope, not the packaged “mush” in the yellow blister pack – the best bologna is from the deli, sliced thin… ;-)

The “managers special” probably has an expiration date of 2 weeks ago!

Back in the day when I was broke I would buy lunch meat ends at the deli. You would get quite a selection of different meats, ( I don’t know if they still do that. )
Just check when the ‘sell by’ date was… then you’ll understand…
1) Baloney is the manager’s special(ty).
2) The manager (i)s special.
It means you have to eat it on the way home in the car, because it is about to “expire”.
Why do I feel like cooking spaghetti (by just looking at Eno)……
