To send a letter in Canada, it’s CAD$1.07 to $1.30 depending on size. That’s about the US$0.81-$0.99, depending on weight. That’s for standard envelope.
During this time of separation I’ve gotten back into mailing letters to friends and relatives. Each one has sent a letter back saying how much they enjoyed hearing from me (and getting a letter.) Letters are amongst my most prized possessions. And nothing lifts the mood of my darling 101-yr-old auntie than getting letters (and she sends out at least 1-2 every day herself.)

the price of a first class stamp, which will get a letter from Florida to Alaska and all points in between is 55cents.
ok , now cue all the horror stories about mail that goes missing or delayed. (they are far far fewer than successful deliveries)
