You know when you’re sitting on a chair and you lean back so you’re just on two legs and you lean too far so you almost fall over but at the last second you catch yourself? I feel like that all the time..
In Jr. High, I had a kid behind me who would basically glance his hand at the back of my head…not enough to hurt, but just enough to bother me. I reached behind me, grabbed the front leg of the desk he was sitting at, and lifted with all my might. Before he knew it, the desk tipped over to the side, and he was sideways on the floor, pinned under the desk and chair. I got sent to the office, but it was worth it, he never bothered me again. Sometimes one has to fight the good fight.
A friend of mine has a dodgy office chair that will sometimes lean back at a 45 degree angle if you put your weight on it just right (wrong?). I’m fairly used to being in a voice chat with them and randomly hearing “snap AAAAH!”
I once did fall off a chair at school (I was a teenager so quite a bit older than Calvin) Thankfully nobody noticed because I was right at the back and there wasn’t really any noise. I did it rather quietly.
Memory is hazy as it was years ago but I only remember those couple of things.

Use of the word “could” gives away the fact that it actually didn’t, Calvin.

I can’t even remember how many times my mom, teachers, grandma, mother in law, crossing guard, etc. warned me about tilting backing in my chair.

Accidents are usually simpler than that one.

I’ve actually had that happen to me in school.

Umm… I don’t think so.

That actually did happen to me in high school. I fell asleep in Geometry class. Next thing I knew I was being picked up off the floor.

Heh, Calvin should’ve done that at home before faking amnesia in this story arc… https://www.gocomics.com/calvinandhobbes/2017/02/27

Hey, at least Calvin knows proper grammar. I know college grads who say and/or write “could of” instead of “could’ve”.
