One is edible and the other isn’t?
Boogers don’t usually have an adverse reaction to salt.
Among the many ways to approach a girl, this is certainly the least suitable.
None, Calvin. Both make Susie leave the cafeteria.
I’ve liked Susie’s expression there too and her reaction! This was a good week for over-the-top expressions for C&H!
Still… Mom’s super angry expression a few days ago is my favorite! You can almost hear the angry breathing on that one!
I know! You’re exactly one of those things, Calvin!
The garden slug is the one with two antennae?
You old smoothy you…..
Calvin really nose, er knows how to impress the girl(s)!
She left her lunch so it could be a win for Calvin
The slug destroys crops and leaves a trail of slime. The booger doesn’t destroy crops.
And then Susie’s mom wonders why she doesn’t finish her lunches!
I don’t know about that, Calvin. Are you certain they taste the same?
I chuckled at that one! Thanks Bill!
OK then. What about a dead booger?
Another round goes to Calvin.
it isn’t much of a riddle but it definitely got the desired reaction.
That look on Suzie’s face is priceless!
I have the same reaction to clams (and boogers).
You know. Come to think of it. I can’t either. Perhaps the quantity of slime? I’ll bet they taste different though.
I feel bad for Susie, having to deal with Calvin at school AND as the only other kid on her street.
Hypothetical questions make life worth living.
A two inch booger doesn’t lay eggs near your brains.
Slugs are softer.
I’ve got it. Garden slugs are acceptable table talk subjects.
Note to self: Don’t read Calvin and Hobbes while having breakfast.
If any of you folks are Red Meat fans, you might notice a similarity between Calvin and Suzy and Karen and Milkman Dan…except Red Meat is waaaay darker.
he is ALL boy…as my mom would say..
And they lived happily ever after. Not anywhere near each other, of course.
The more I see of Calvin, the less cute he gets.
Who else here hates seeing names of people in comic strips?
Calvin, you’re a rotten kid.

This strip was originally printed in newspapers on my second birthday!
I wonder what those little cute packets have for lunch. Anything, but lots of love from mothers, I believe.
