Its not just the smugness of the wise guys, it is their wisecracks that are more annoying…

Insolence can be fun.

Now that I’m very comfortably retired, it gives me much joy to explain to people that one of the best things about retirement is watching other people work…

I was once sneered at by a “friend” because neither of us is “ambitious.” Said friend acquired a large house in the most expensive village round about, and then her husband lost his job and at his age was hard pressed to find work. No, we’re not ambitious, but we’re not in debt up to our eyebrows, either.

Hobbes has it made….

I always thought that my cats were somehow aware that they were living a better life than me.

The pot calling the kettle black. It’s not as if Calvin lives by his obligations, responsibilities and deadlines! :D

Hobbes has quite a mug to go with his smug.

“Living well is the best revenge.” Live long and prosper works better for me than “Live fast, die young, and leave a good looking corpse.” But, to each their own.

During one of Dad & me having a bourbon or two, Dad opined, “Breaking my mind making a lot of money so you can make a lot of money without breaking your mind..”

If Hobbes didn’t attack Calvin coming home from school, Calvin would tell him he’s shirking his obligation. Can’t win.

Hobbes has the best job ever, just like every other child’s toy-just to be loved.

Pride does not become a person living wisely….

Fun fact: “Smug” is the collective noun for a group of Priuses. A smug of Priai.

So very true.

Calvin’s life doesn’t look all that bad. How many of us would trade places with him in a heartbeat? I want to be riding down a steep hill on a toboggan with Hobbes (or my Lab if I’m allowed to do a crossover with Red and Rover)!
