@Linguist Today’s strip IS funny , our HERO Mr Andrew Capp whn sober can be very resourceful using a hairdryer to dry the dishes is smart , I did something similar last week when our fridge was clogged with ice I used an electric paint stripper to thaw the ice :o) my avatar is a statement about the scary words that seem harmless but should strike terror in a man’s heart my better half does that how about yours?:o{ come avete passato la vostra Dominica mio meno vecchio di me amicho? our day should be busy but calm I hope ,no Sunday drive , both sons are on duty , Connie is in a good mood while I am still confused with the time change having tore-set all our clocks and electric gizmos :o) keep safe and a bientot pal
In actuality leaving the dishes to dry in the rack is more sanitary then using a grubby dish towel. And lending Andy $20-what is this? Where does he get money to pay her back? He is always begging for cash and not paying for anything. Does he have ANY income of his own. His “dole” must have run out years ago.
If you give a job to a lazy person they will usually figure out the quickest and more efficient way to do it, provided they do it at all. That will be faster, more sanitary and actually more efficient than hand drying them.

That just might be more sanitary than the usual method of wiping the dishes with a dishtowel.

Does Andy spend more energy, finding the hair dryer, and holding it up till the dishes are dry — or just getting a dish towel and drying by hand?

If they are stacked so that the water can drain off, they will be dry before she gets home.

We all know Flo will be paying for it, but I wonder how much electricity out of that twenty she gave Andy will be used up by the hair dryer?

I can’t believe he’s actually doing it

Dishes don’t need drying. Just leave them in a drainer for a bit.

Sooo… she was just going to let them air dry?

It is rather risky to ask someone to do something when they have probably never done jt before.

That might actually work, but I wouldn’t try it.
