After the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004, that left the Cubs as the longest drought team in baseball. I was glad when they finally broke their curse.
I’d have figured to be a Twins fan, since Minneapolis is a lot closer to you than chicago__
It’s interesting to look at the logic, if there is any, of celebrating by sitting down to a meal. I know it’s central to Christian practice, and I’m sure to any number of other faiths. In and of itself, it strikes me as odd, though.
The ex and I often talk about all the restaurants we would frequent. The only one I’ve been to in recent years was last summer on the Oregon Coast with my Son and his family. Otherwise I avoid them because of the cost and calories.
When I was a kid my family lived north if Chicago from ’58 to ’63. I was delighted to have baseball on TV almost every day except for Jack Brickhouse. It was wonderful when my Giants came to town and their right handed power hitters found Waveland Ave.
Didn’t that last game go extra innings? I seem to remember finally going to bed but checking results on my phone and then waking up my husband when they won! I might be remembering one of the play offs.

“Go out to eat” – some of the best words in the English language, I’d venture.

I remember Wrigley Field not having lights for a long time and, because of that, I came to think baseball should be played during the day.
