Yup! That’s how school was! One school I went to, we had to use the school-provided safe scissors. The school, trying to be accommodating, had lefty as well as righty scissors. In equal quantities. Made sense, doesn’t it, two kinds of handedness, so half of us must be secretly lefties! Fortunately for me, my left works about as well as the right, though neither worked very well.

We coveted the pointy tipped scissors but to be honest they really didn’t work that much better.

Red’s children will be plagued with plastic scissors.

Don’t even get me started on modern playgrounds and litigious hungry lawyers! On the scissors: My 1st grade teacher told us a horrible story about a little boy who ran in class and tripped while carrying pointed scissors…she gave us two warning in one and I still remember it! “The Horror!”

Over asphalt or concrete unless it is grass. That was much better.

I’m a no car seat, no seat belt, no bike helmet, bed of pickup riding, and garden hose drinking survivor.
