Well, where can Linus sigh, Lucy? I know not around you, but seriously.

Where is Rerun? Doesn’t he bug Lucy too?

Linus is acting a bit bolder than his usual self in this strip. Normally Lucy would give Linus 5 reasons to knock it off as she makes a fist in his direction and her younger brother meekly complies.

Sighing is a sign of boredom. Do it at the wrong time, and it can offend people.

So I have to warn some people about my habit. I do a lot of aerobic exercise and my lungs have a large tidal capacity. If I sit too long like in a meeting, the air at the bottom of my lungs gets “stale” so I take a deep breath and sigh. It’s purely physiological.

When I do this when my wife is around, I take an extra deep breath and let the air run over my tongue and make a hissing sound. She says that I am “letting the air out of my tires.” It’s become a joke with us over the years.

I love it when Linus (or anyone else) gets one over on Lucy.

My habit for saying “Sigh!” came from the Peanuts strips. It became kind of an in joke at work.

Sounds like my sister. I was just thinking about this this morning. One time I’m at her house, were watching TV which was boring so I was listening to music on my iPod and I guess softly singing along. She told me to be quiet, so instead I just mouthed the words along with the music — and she still told me to be quiet.

Everything seems to bother Lucy. Maybe the problem is her not anyone else.
