No, I don’t think I have one of those. I also don’t want one of those. Even if it has pretty hands.

I’m afraid my selfishly locked-up thing is very personal.

And I know what it is. It’s all that digested turkey just so eager to come out the other end when you least expect it.

    … impersonal?…

    …locked inside of me?…

…why would you lock something impersonal inside yourself, selfishly?…

…that stuffing from the couch I keep in my junk drawer…

    …is just in case I need it…

…along with the three quarter used up matchbook from Piggly Wiggly’s…

…and the bent Coke bottle cap…

    …do not remove that ever…

…that senior prom photo of me and whats-her-name-…

…I can’t even remember which twin it was…

    …and that McDonald’s wrapper…

    …why is it in there?…

    …well…

…as soon as you throw something away, you’ll need it…

…that Father John’s Medicine bottle must be 100 years old…

…and that old curly phone cord…

…there’s not even a phone to go with it…

    …and your old phone number…

    …stuck in my head…

    …still…

    …after 41 years…

    …what’s it doing there?…

…you haven’t even had it for the last 39 of those years…

    What better person to treat is yourself? Nothing wrong with using salon services, like getting a mani-pedi to make one feel so good about themselves. Aaaaaaah! HEY! watch my nails, they’re still wet….=~}

It’s so selfish and impersonal that we have to protect it with yellow crime-scene tape.

Re those points d’intonation on the blog: what is an “acclamation” point used for? And what kind of statement would be accompanied by the “love” point? Shouldn’t that just stand on its own?

All I can say is, you better not let J.C. Duffy see that blog post, because it’ll certainly cause his readers to slow way down when they read “The Fusco Brothers.” You know, more than they usually do.

Suzanna Duchamp-Crotti on the Blog seems dressed a little on the “too nice” side to look like a dadaist.

It’s no longer “selfish” if you share it.

Keep it locked away lest it be used as ammunition against you.

Do you know a good safe cracker? I don’t think a church key will do the job; oh, and the smell, are you prepared for the smell?

    Cri de Coeur?

Does the Selfishly Impersonal really long to get out in the open (kinda like a quarantined Froglandian longing for the Great Outdoors and fresh air—some say that is best for your continued good health)?

    Unlock that inner-self door!
