My mother always said you could get some ice and hold it on the gum. The gum would get hard then you break it off.

In high school, I had long, waist-length hair (still do). One day someone put a HUGE wad of gum right at the base of my head, at the top of my neck. When I discovered it, I was so upset! I went home in tears. My grandmother sat me down and worked on the gum with an ice cube. She got every single bit of gum out and I didn’t lose a hair. The next day I wore my hair down. I knew exactly who put the gum in my hair by the expression on her face when I walked into music class.

As a teen, I once was in a very promising situation in a back seat. I went for a neck kiss & my gum got caught in her hair; I had to cut it out with my knife.

The situation quickly became a great deal less promising………
