I think the tragedy of modern politics is that the cartoon that is mainstream media representation of politics leads us to assume that the common people of both parties can actually be understood through the distorted lens looking at politicians. It happens elsewhere too, I have spent a good deal of time in places like China for my work and have very good friends who live there – in no way are they similar to the people running that country.

I’m conservative, but that’s funny.
