From where we stand today as a country, I can’t understand how every serious, rational thinker, social and political commentator/critic/etc. is not absolutely “hair on fire” about the state of delusion that tens of millions of Republican voters find themselves in right now.
Per Pew Research – 40% of Trump voters believe that Trump definitely won the election, while another 35% believe that he probably did. That’s 75% of 74 million people.
All these calls for “unity” are meaningless, completely worthless and futile, when one realizes that we aren’t living in the same reality as these people. The informational diet that the Republican electorate is consuming right now is so toxic and filled with outright misinformation, that tens of millions are living in a literal, not figurative, paranoiac psychosis.
Pandora’s Box of Conspiratorial Thinking has been opened here, and these people are now fully activated and capable of believing quite literally anything.
Very good, Scott. The inclement weather can mean different things to people. A symbol/metaphor for the social and health problems for which no progress has been made for years, or the aggression and battle that the GOOP in its effort to exterminate “the socialists who are coming to take your guns” is promising or ….
It’s interesting how we interpret things differently. I immediately thought of the Antifa protest which took place almost immediately after Biden took office. They were expressing their hatred for Biden, and that was a big surprise. So that’s how I interpreted the storm and the honeymoon being over.
Multi-panel this time, takes advantage of the Sunday color palette (for the few papers that still run comics). This gag could run on a weekday but you’d lose the foreshortening which would lessen the impact.
I was so disappointed to see the Republicans shaming their fellow party members who voted for Trump’s impeachment to tow the party line and keep Trump’s jackboot on the party members necks. Ugh! More of the same, political party before country.
Would any sane person want to be in bed with the likes of Mitch McMafia, Criminal Cruz, Delusional Devious Devin Nunes, or HAW-HAWHawley (to name a few demented Repulsicans?)

Same old Republican obstructionism. Accountability for the attempted coup will be an important starting point.

It’s the return of Hurricane Impeachment, with a booster shot of obstructionism and partisanship.

No need to delay any indictments until after the impeachment trial.
I wonder if any of Trump’s lawyers were dumb enough to sign on without payment in advance. Besides Rudy, I mean.

I approve, Kip?…
Some one of the talking heads was saying we should be on war footing, an all out mobilization on the scale of WW2. Not wrong, I think.

A storm is racing across the state to get to the big football game before it is over.
