I love it, so spot on! My Rugby has a gauntlet death stare with piercing eyes. I am like, ok, ok, here’s your treat and you can go out. Dang your persistent!
Benny was master of the “What!?! Are you crazy!?!” look. Jean-Luc was master of the sad, forlorn, “nickeleckted orphlet” eyes. He melted many a non-dog-lovers heart using that look. (PS: that’s neglected orphan, to all you people who never use slang.)
My dog always got a treat before her meal. Now half way thru her bowl of food she comes to me with ‘the look’. She wants another treat as encouragement to finish her meal. She has me very well trained! :*).
mine doesn’t use the sad puppy face, when we go for a walk she heels beautifully by my left leg and gives me the “I’m being a good girl” smiley face. If I don’t have a treat for her I always feel a little guilty.
When we had a dog in the house, she would often spend time just looking at me … and then I would feel oddly compelled to either give her belly rubs, head scratches or a treat. :-)

The sad puppy face should be illegal.

The sad puppy face always makes me laugh and then I give Astrid and Eleanor anything they want.

Don’t give him too much, Red. You don’t want a fat, ill dog.

Red should not regret having a compassionate heart.

One of my cats does the sad, food-bowl vigil until I catch on.
