So why does “gasp” merit an exclamation point while “scream” does not? I really appreciate that two of the sound effects are repeated in the second panel for anyone who may have missed them in the first.

The drawing in panel one is just hideous.

Yeah, day two of the girl falling. The way DL works, I’d expect her to still be falling for the rest of this week.

I think we’ve misunderstood what’s going on here. Look at panel 2 of Sunday’s strip again. Compare with panel 1 today. What are we looking at?

IT’S A THREE-HEADED MONSTER!!!! GASP! NO! SCREAM OH, NO GASP NO IT HAPPENED!

That last line probably indicates the ringmaster knew a mad scientist was going to meld the Tracy family into a three-headed monster. Is he in on the plot?

Tracy’s busy narrating and refuses to scream! Oh no! Any second now the Tingler is going to break his spine!!

“jumbobrain” sardonically noted today :

While both “brine” and “jtpozenel” have both complained that the girl is STILL depicted as “falling” this week.

These reflect the new imperative. One where everything is “repeated” several times (as jumbobrain noted) to make SURE we “understand” what’s happened. To bring it all home, I thought they’d have inserted a PLUNK or a THUD sound to emphasize the result of the fall (?)

And we’ll have a repeat on Sunday. But Dicky still isn’t fully convinvced that we “understand”, so he will be arranging a “recap” (of a recap) on that “fall” next week. Look for it (Aug. 5 and 8)

And some readers want to know why it always takes so long to get to the point (?) The point IS he hasn’t figured out what’s going to happen next. And until he does “marking time” via repetition IS his best bet, Dull ? Slow ? Inept ?

Seems Locher needs his own Matrix pack to “change” and speed up the PACE of his stories.

I misread the first panel and thought she missed her spleen - was looking around for the Brewster Rockit crew.

Panel one reminds of the poster from the movie “The Seduction of Joe Tynan”.

The fall won’t hurt her. She’s already dead. Hope she didn’t lose bodily function control over the crowd.

At the end of almost every airline crash transcript, the page said: CAM : (Cockpit Area Microphone} Oh, (expliteive delieted}! CAM : (Sound of impact) (End of recording)

..How bout “Jeez Louise, I missed the trapeze!”
