All of this gives me angst and fear and trembling before the great void. Do we have being or is it just nothingness? Tune in tomorrow when Sartre, Camus, Heidegger, Kierkegaard and others are the topics at Auntie Mae’s Book Club and ice cream social!
I used to have “media fugues” where I didn’t get much accomplished until I “caught up”. Originally, it was just one show on broadcast TV, then back to usual life. Later, with cable, it could take several days. Came the Internet, started taking a week. With subscription services … well, I simply wouldn’t get anything done. It turns out that lack of screen entertainment is NOT what was wrong with my life. I don’t subscribe to anything (and I’ll shortly be done with YouTube free movies and get back to being a creative person, once again).
