She’s known Dakota for almost a decade, I mean a few months/years now.

What is “forever” when you’re — what are the girls’ ages? — eleven, twelve years old?

“Forever” means everything from before the Big Bang to after the Heat Death of the Universe. So we still have an eternity to go before that statement is half-true.

“No, but I had to listen to one of your silly Unicorn snarky remarks again, and sometimes that FEELS like forever.”

I know Phoebe. Immortals! Right?!

It only SEEMS like forever, Phoebe!

I hadn’t guessed that Marigold would be a Quick Draw McGraw fan, but Phoebe does look just a bit like Baba Looey in the last panel.

Well, it is a little more literal for them, to be fair.

The desire for immortality illustrates the need to be careful what you wish for. Once the universe collapses back on itself and everything goes black, you’re going to be awfully bored.

Marigold has a point. Two, actually.

I don’t remember where I heard it, but someone described what the passage of time was to a child, or a dog for that matter – something happens, then forever passes, then something else happens. That’s why dogs are so happy to see you again – because it has been forever since they last saw you. Or the morning when you went to work – same difference.

“Forever” has a different definition when you’re 7 years old as opposed to 79…

Pheobe has also been 9 forever. She has first days of school and she goes into new grades, but she´s still 9 and in 4th grade. So Pheobe lives in unicorn years. It’s like how dog years go 7 times as fast, unicorn years go 20 times a slow.
