There’s gold in them thar appliances. My mother saved my grandfather’s bridgework because, back then, “there’s maybe a hundred dollars of gold in it.” Today it might be over $1000.

Actually, that’s not a totally awful idea. I have some old gold teeth laying around somewhere just waiting for something to do. Yes, apparently even gold teeth go bad and have to be replaced. …sigh

A dentist with a recycling fixation, or a spouse who is a jeweler. Works for me!

Actually, any extra silver filling that is mixed up (amalgam) has to go in a special container and is shipped to a special waste material site. Also any drilled out of a mouth goes down a drain with a special separator. Why? Because those type of fillings are roughly 50% mercury.

They make jewelry out of just about any sturdy little object… I’ve seen some nice stuff made out of computer parts.

How enterprising, but not very appealing. I guess the tooth fairy sold out.
