You dreamed of marrying Ellie and having a family, if a football career goes the same way you’ll wind up brain-dead on the 50-yard line with everyone staring at you instead of helping.
Is Hubbs gonna leave Ellie? It might happen considering they got married in a literal shotgun wedding. I hope they are able to communicate better so they can be the parents Al needs.
Well Hubbs, maybe you should go on a spiritual journey to find the answers you’re looking for, and if the answer is to do the same Clark Gable did at the end of “Gone with the Wind”, well, no one should live under any kind of physical or mental abuse, and Ellie just have showed that she doesn’t love you, she doesn’t care about you, she’s just a bully who shields behind a baby.
Bah, report Ellie to child protection services. She got baby Al on fire while Hubbs was at work, she clearly is a bad mother and makes the baby miserable. Child protection services will then come and take Ellie away, to place her in another family, leaving Al and Hubbs together to play catch. That’s how it works right?
Give it up. You’re never going to become a professional football player. Well, you might’ve had a chance if trump hadn’t tanked the USFL. But now, you don’t have a chance.
I don’t know how things will go, but I feel that things will come to a head, and Ellie will refuse to make any compromise (“It’s for the baaaaby”)At that point, Hubbs will need to make a choice: stay with the uncompromising Ellie and have his dreams eternally quashed, or leave and never see Al again.I am willing to bet that Ellie will fully embrace the single, hardworking mother stereotype and delude herself into always being right. And that it’s Hubbs’s fault she and Al are so miserable.
Ellie’s issue is that she didn’t marry Hubbs; she married an unrealistic idea.
Besides, the only marriage archetype missing is the divorced couple.
I do believe that Hubbs will try out for the pro football team that was looking for players about 6 months ago, as a walk on. Comic physics will state that the team would still be looking. We do not know how old Hubbs is, but we know there is at least one quarter-back that for in his 40s. Comic physics states that determination is all you need (and Hulking Out).
Not to pick at Bear but this arc reminds me of a few women I’ve met who got their baby and relegated hubby or BF to second place. Miss Ellie is very pretty, biggun’s and all but I’ve lost respect for her. Wife and I after 28 years have our own stuff and neither would do this to each other.
Bea, you might want to read all the comments on this story line. If you don’t watch out you’re going to have a angry crowd with torches and pitchforks screaming for Ellie’s head at your door. You do know that bring a baby into a successful situation comedy usually kills the show?
Ellie is not a bad mom. She’s an inexperienced mom. Just like Hubbs is an inexperienced husband and father. Good lord, he went straight from his mom to Ellie! He never had a chance to work through all this stuff on his own before he jumped into marriage/family. The whole family needs therapy. Like NOW! Leave the kid and the cat with Sedine a few days a week and straighten out your heads.
Hubbs get off your pity potty, put the lamp away, go up stairs and see if Ellie might have another gift for you to unwrap, she might surprise you, it’s christmas nibut and the last gift is usually the best.

It’s tough when those around you aren’t supportive of your goals.
That said, they are ‘YOUR’ goals, not those of the people around you.
If you wanna be ‘King Of The Pirates’ Hubbs, then Set Sail~!! ✨❤️✨

Hubbs needs to talk with someone about this. He shouldn’t try to be dealing with this on his own.
