The clutter that Joe mentioned yesterday?

It’s a step. A small step … maybe an unproductive step … but a step.

If there is anyone out there who seriously wants to take control of the clutter in their lives but feels too overwhelmed to begin, I recommend a couple of books by Don Aslett: “Lose 200 Lbs. This Weekend” and “Clutter’s Last Stand.” He actually makes de-cluttering fun, as well as making it feel achievable.

That would make a cool man cave.

I am in the process of cleaninIg out nearly 62 years worth of accumulated stuff in my house. Thankfully none of us were hoarders and it is easy to let go of many things. The trick I use is to not say that I have to clean out a whole room, but I have to clean out a corner of the room, or just the closet. Next is the basement, but only one small space at a time!

This is the worst filing system I’ve ever seen

Last summer on my 76th b’day my 101-year-old mom passed away. I took it as a symbolic message to simplify then reboot my life. Tossed out three big dumpsters worth of drek from every room in the apartment: clothes, books, tchotchkes, kitchen junk, everything. If it gave me no joy, out it went. (Kept many books, art and craft materials). I actually felt lighter. Brought my car up to shape, now I’m catching up with all the dental work I let slide. After the estate is settled, and World War XIX is over, then I’m off to see the world—and maybe a few more places. Enceladus, or the 8th dimension, anyone?
