Worked for my dad. When it was to cold to chop wood outside, he’d get them down to a manageable size. Then take them in the garage/shed to split into fire wood. Which I then got to haul up to the house and stack.
Got a generator after a power outage that left me freezing for a week. So Sunday my oil burner died. Of course! I’d switch to tree chopping, but as I don’t have a fireplace…..

Good idea, except for the little things living in those logs that call them “home”. Now they call your house “home”.

Fire — The one major thing that made it possible to live in much colder climates. Feels great on a chilly evening, too.

Spend some further time chopping up the tree. That should keep you warm.

Unless that tree was dead and dry, it’s not going to burn like that and it will create lots of smoke.

Notch the tree. You’ve got a death wish.

In the Northeast section of the US we don’t need to chop down trees since wind storms have toppled many of them.

My uncle Bob once rebuilt the engine to his porsche on the dining room table. It was too damn cold in the garage. :)

Unless that tree was dead for 6 months, that’s going to be a smokey fire.

All that green wood will pop, crackle, and sizzle relentlessly, keeping him awake and spitting hot embers onto his rug. Ah, I so MISS that!
